Volvo's Revolutionary Safety Features

In the world of automotive safety, Volvo is a leader. For over 60 years, Volvo has been committed to making their cars as safe as possible for drivers and passengers alike. They have achieved this goal by continually innovating and developing new advanced safety features that are designed to keep you and your family safe in any situation. Let’s take a closer look at four of Volvo’s revolutionary safety features.

Oncoming Lane Mitigation (OLM)

Oncoming Lane Mitigation is an advanced feature designed to reduce the risk of head-on collisions. This system uses radar sensors to detect vehicles in your path and alerts you with audible and visual warnings if it detects an imminent collision risk from an approaching vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. If needed, OLM will also apply corrective steering interventions to help avoid a potential collision by guiding you around any obstacles in your way.

Lane Keeping Aid

Another of Volvo's signature safety technologies is Lane Keeping Aid (LKA). LKA monitors lane markings on roads and highways to keep you centered in your lane. If you start drifting without using your turn signal, LKA will alert you with audio and visual warnings so you can make corrections before any accidents happen. It can also provide steering assistance if necessary.

Road Sign Information

Stay safe on the roads by keeping an eye out for road sign information. Instrument clusters and head-up displays will flash a speed limit sign icon if you go above the posted limit, as well as alerting you to any nearby speed cameras. Don’t forget to take note of no overtaking zones and other areas you are not allowed to enter.

Blind Spot Information System

The Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) works by monitoring blind spot areas around your car so you can be aware of other vehicles approaching on either side of you when driving or changing lanes. BLIS also includes Cross Traffic Alert, which helps detect traffic as you reverse out of parking spaces or driveways. Both BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert are designed to alert drivers when another vehicle is detected in their blind spot area or crossing behind them respectively.

Volvo has long been known as one of the leading brands when it comes to automotive safety features, and these five revolutionary systems are just some examples of why they stand out among their competitors. By combining cutting-edge technology with decades of experience in engineering excellence, Volvo continues to set the standard for modern automotive safety innovation worldwide!
